The innovative neurofeedback application won the Gold Medal and Special Merit Award at the 50th Geneva International Invention Exhibition.

Dr. Michael Yeung received two awards at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in April 2025: a Gold Medal with Jury Congratulations and an International Special Merit Award for his project, “A Hybrid EEG-fNIRS Neurofeedback Application for Brain Training in Autistic Children.” 

This is a novel hybrid EEG-fNIRS system for multimodal neurofeedback training. It targets cognitive, emotional, and social functions in autism, using valid feedback stimuli, reward delivery, and progressive loading to maximise efficacy and engagement.

The International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva is the largest global exhibition devoted exclusively to inventions. All entries are evaluated by an international jury of 135 specialists. This year’s exhibition featured over 1,050 inventions from 38 countries and regions, bringing together global innovation.
