“A Hybrid EEG-fNIRS Neurofeedback Application for Brain Training for Autistic Children”, developed by Dr Michael Yeung Kin-chung, Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychology. This pioneering hybrid EEG-fNIRS system offers multimodal neurofeedback training for autistic children, improving treatment outcomes and engagement.
These achievements reflect EdUHK’s progress in interdisciplinary research and its commitment to translating scientific innovations into practical solutions for societal challenges.
The Asia Exhibition of Innovations and Inventions Hong Kong (AEII) is the Asia’s annual exhibition cum competition exclusively devoted to innovations and inventions from Asia to be hosted in Hong Kong, by partnering with Palexpo, Geneva, organiser of the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva. This year’s event, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, featured over 140 innovative projects from across Asia, providing a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Alongside the AEII, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council hosted its annual Entrepreneurship Day, themed “Where Start-up Dreams Take Flight", attracting more than 350 startups from 11 countries and regions. The Entrepreneurship Day also featured networking sessions, investment-pitching opportunities, and showcases of creative solutions, all aimed at fostering new partnerships and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
For the fourth consecutive year, EdUHK’s Entrepreneurship Development Unit (EDuce) led incubated start-up teams to participate. This year's teams included enterprises funded under the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau Funding Scheme for Youth Entrepreneurship in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. During the event, start-ups showcased their innovative solutions, engaged in business matching, and shared entrepreneurial experiences and success stories in the Greater Bay Area through dedicated seminars.
