25 FEHD Scholars Named Among World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University

Twenty-five researchers from the Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD) have been recognised by Stanford University as being among the top 2% most-cited scientists globally, according to the 2025 annual rankings. This marks an increase of three scholars compared to last year, reflecting the faculty’s continued excellence in research and growing international reputation.


The recognised scholars come from all five departments, demonstrating strong expertise in education and psychology and reinforcing the Faculty’s leadership in these areas. Five new scholars joined the list this year: Dr Yvonne Huang Xianhan, Professor Anatoly Oleksiyenko, Dr Adam Poole, Dr Zhan Ying, and Dr Michael Yeung Kin-chung. Their recognition reflects the Faculty’s expanding research capacity and the impact of its academic contributions.


This recognition highlights the significant influence of FEHD researchers in advancing knowledge and shaping global discourse in their fields. Such achievements reflect not only the quality of research but also the Faculty’s ability to address critical challenges in education and human development.


The Dean of FEHD, Professor Bruce Macfarlane, congratulated the scholars, saying: "This recognition by Stanford University demonstrates the dedication and commitment of our researchers across all departments. I am proud of how our scholars continue to push the boundaries of knowledge and enhance the global reputation of FEHD. The Stanford University rankings are based on Scopus data and consider factors such as citation counts, co-authorship adjustments, and author rankings. By focusing on academic impact rather than publication volume, the list highlights researchers whose work has made a lasting contribution to the scientific community.
